Kirsten L. Greene, MD
Research Interests
Greene’s basic science research includes development of molecular diagnostics using complement immunology and telomerase reverse transcriptase. She conducted basic science research for three years on the role of the complement immune system on autoimmune disease and bacterial resistance. Most recently Greene worked with Rajvir Dahiya, PhD to explore epigenetic changes in prostate cancer.
Her clinical interests include outcomes research; decision analysis
focusing on recurrence, survival, and quality of life after prostate
cancer treatment; and development of guidelines for PSA screening.
In a collaboration with the San Francisco Fire Department, Marshall
Stoller, MD, Badrinath Konety, MD, MBA and Greene are evaluating
the role of routine bladder cancer screening among firefighters
and developing a longitudinal cohort for evaluation of all health
conditions in this group.
