Is there a Connection Between the Foods We Eat and Prostate Cancer?

Research study conducted at the Markstein Cancer Education and Prevention Center of Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, Summit Campus, in collaboration with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory

Objectives

To learn about possible dietary causes for the high rate of prostate cancer among African American men.

   

Eligibility

African American Men between the ages of 50 and 70, never diagnosed with prostate cancer

 

All patients will receive a free physical exam and be paid $30.

During the exam participants will:

Answer questions about what they eat

Have a routine prostate exam and be given the results

Have a routine PSA blood test and be sent the results
